The Newsstand is a non-profit, social media platform designed to provide one centralized location to receive news sourced from verified, reliable reporters.
Our mission is to ensure that individuals can easily access accurate, fact-based news without being distracted by opinions or misinformation.
The Newsstand is a modern, online version of a newsstand or a wire service. The platform features posts from verified reporters, each linking to their recent stories.
The Newsstand is governed by a Board of Directors, supported by an Advisory Board and full-time staff. We also work with specialized consultants, including attorneys, accountants, and software engineers, as needed. The reporters who post will be unbiased journalists who only report news; they are not commentators or opinion writers.
In an era of misinformation and distrust, access to accurate news and information is critical. News empowers individuals to make informed decisions in their daily lives, promotes a healthy democracy, and contributes to societal well-being. Despite the many available news sources, there is no single platform dedicated exclusively to verified reporting from credible journalists who work for different outlets nationwide.
Our vision at The Newsstand is to become the go-to source for breaking news and hard news. The Newsstand appeals to people
who value trustworthy, timely news and appreciate accessing it in one convenient location. The platform is ideal for those who regularly check headlines and want reliable sources for their information. For people who are unsure about where to find
accurate news and information, the platform will be an easily accessible “go-to” source.
